And that’s a wrap for Volume One! Not with a whisper, but a bang. Thank you all so much for reading! It’s been a journey, and i’ve learned so much drawing the first volume of Skyvein. 220 pages is a lot of drawing and it’s more than i’ve ever drawn for any other comic in my life, and i’m super proud of that, and i’m so glad i could share it with you all.
Now i have some good and bad news.
The bad news is that Skyvein is going to have to go on hiatus for awhile. This was something i wanted strongly to avoid, but life things happen, and Skyvein isn’t a way for me to pay my bills at this juncture, so other things have to come first. More bad news, i’m not exactly sure how long it will be on hiatus for, but i will keep you all as updated as i can about it.
The good news is that it’s for a really exciting reason for me! i’m starting a tattoo apprenticeship at a really awesome tattoo shop in Minneapolis, and i could not be more excited! i need to commit all of my time and energy for awhile to learning how to do that, because it’s a huge thing to learn and i want to be able to give people the best tattoos i possibly can. All that said, i am not done with Skyvein, not by a long shot. I have two more volumes to write and illustrate, and i’m really excited to finish telling this story, it’s just going to take a little longer than i first expected it to.
Again, thank you all so much for reading, and i’ll let you know just as soon as i have updates about when i might be able to start posting again.
